The Foothills Bluegrass Music Society is a volunteer run organization that supports bluegrass and adjacent music styles in southern Alberta through jams, workshops, concerts and partnerships with local and regional like minded individuals and organizations.
We believe in creating opportunities and spaces to learn and play bluegrass and related traditional music. Through our annual Shady Grove festival and concerts we support local and regional performing artists by providing a unique venue for amazing talent you might never get to hear in person otherwise.

Traditional and contemporary bluegrass jam, bring your songs and instrumental tunes. Acoustic instruments only, with exception for electric bass, no percussion. Bluegrass adjacent styles such as old-time, classic country and folk music (typically in a bluegrass style) may creep in later in the evening…
