Guitar The “Modes” of the Major Scale with Darryl Poulsen:

Advanced: Learning the modes of the major scale: In this workshop you will learn what each mode of the major scale sounds like and how it relates to the chord of a given key. We will learn all seven modes up and down the guitar neck and play through them to understand how they can be used to improvise.

Beginner/Intermediate: Walking bass lines between chords, G runs, and how to play rhythm guitar in a bluegrass setting to back up a vocalist or a fiddle tune.

Bass  Working on Bass Lines with Alastair Whitehead:
We will break bass lines down to the basics, discuss some of the different approaches, from the root five approach, to the broken two feel, to the walking bass line, difference between straight eighth feel, and a swung eighth feel.

Mandolin Approaching a Melody with Adrian Gross:
We’ll learn how to take a melody and turn it into a unique and personal statement using techniques like double stops, cross picking, tremolo and chord melody to dress it up.

Banjo Clawhammer vs Three Finger Style withFrank Evans:
We will discuss switching between playing the clawhammer style and the three finger style, different banjo tunings and how each style influences the other.
