The Foothills Bluegrass Society is proud to Present The John Lowell Trio April 6th 2019 at Irish Culture Centre. They will be holding workshops earlier in the day (details to come), and a concert that night starting 7:30 PM.

John Lowell is a trailblazing singer/songwriter from Montana. He has become increasingly popular throughout the United States, Canada and Europe from touring with his own John Lowell Band in addition to the Growling Old Men. John is a triple threat as an accomplished flatpicker, skilled songwriter and talented vocalist.
John tours constantly and appeared in 2018 at the Vancouver Folk Festival as well as stops in Radium Hot Springs and Edmonton for the Northern Circle Bluegrass Society. His John Lowell Band has toured Germany, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic for five years and will be returning in 2019. In January and February, John and Ben Winship will be touring Arizona, Colorado and Utah for a Growling Old Men winter tour, where they hope to add some skiing to the music. Hes also an in demand instructor and has taught guitar, vocals, songwriting and singing classes at Sore Fingers Camp in the UK, Sorrento and He Ho Ha in Canada and the Montana Fiddle Camp. This October he was a featured instructor at Gillbilly, and will be returning to the Montana Fiddle Camp next summer. In the spring, he will return to Sore Fingers for his 6 th time a record. (His students honored him with a Sore Fingers toilet seat for his 5 th session he cant wait to see what happens this year.)
John has appeared on the cover of Flatpicking and Acoustic Guitar magazines, on television and radio programs and his music is featured on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations.
He's currently recording a new CD of duets with long-time friends including John Reischman, Jeremy Garrett, Ron Block, Chris Coole, Ben Somers, Joe Walsh, Jason Thomas, Claire Lynch, Becky Buller, Chris Jones, Greg Cahill, Missy Raines, Darol Anger, Joe Newberry, Andy Hall, Joy Adams and Bill Payne (scheduled to be released in spring of 2019).
